Binge-Worthy Video Series
Original Programming
The smartest brands aren't just making short social videos anymore. They're making TV shows. Episodic storytelling keeps viewers coming back, and every episode builds trust and brand affinity. So how do you keep folks watching in the era of Instagram Reels? I'll show you.
I'm an Emmy-nominated director with a background in playwriting, and I love helming serialized long form projects with modular segments that spin off into short, snackable content for social.
My original programming spans health systems, life sciences and the arts: a documentary series for Porchlight Music Theatre, surgical reality TV developed alongside former Harpo creatives at Northwestern Medicine, PBS-style science programming at Rush and more. When something works, we write down the recipe so we can enjoy it again and again.
Go ahead and pop some popcorn and get comfy. You might be here a while. :-)

Inside the OR
If your hospital is performing life-saving surgeries every day, I recommend filming some of those and putting them on social media!
I supported my creative director, a former Oprah producer, in developing this surgical reality show, now at 6M+ views on YouTube. Each episode averages 500K views and brings in 20–30K new subscribers. It accounts for 25% of quarterly viewership across all Northwestern Medicine video, was the first show on the channel to pass 1M views in under six months, and holds viewers 4X longer than any other page on the health system's website.
RENT Educational Series
525,600 archive photos and videos and one international voiceover session later, this three-part documentary series on the historical context of RENT earned a Chicago/Midwest Emmy nomination for Outstanding Craft Achievement in Directing.
I directed the series for Porchlight Music Theatre's 2023–24 season, leading a team of four creatives through content licensing, international talent coordination, and full post-production.
More Than A Month
Pride is more than a month at Northwestern Medicine, and in 2022 we wanted to prove it.
We launched our "More Than A Month" campaign in June, and then committed publicly to posting stories from our LGBTQ+ patients and providers every month for the rest of the year.
This series also created the model process for NM's ongoing communications about their employee resource groups, the NM Champion Network.
There's no denying that at Northwestern Medicine, Pride is much more than a month.
Research at Rush
What if Bill Nye the Science Guy took a walk through Chicago with the scientists changing medicine? This educational series for Rush University System for Health and Rush University Medical College introduces research scientists and connects their work to the city it serves, making lab science feel as fun and surprising as it actually is, through a health equity lens that reinforces the organization's anchor mission. Science rules!
Ask A Rush Doc
Doctor bio videos usually live and die on a website page. I wanted ours to work harder. Rush films 15 to 20 physicians every quarter for Find a Doc, and I built a social capture plan into every shoot so each doctor now walks away with a bio video plus one or two social videos made for the feed. Same shoot day, same crew, a lot more content.
The style is direct to camera, a nod to the way social audiences already watch creators, so it feels like the doctor is talking straight to you. That's how a profile video turns into a reason to book.
The results: All 12 surgeons featured saw more Find a Doc profile interest year over year. Clicks to call from Find a Doc profiles rose 38%, and MyChart clicks rose 33%.
A Day in the Life
Want to know what a nurse's 24-hour shift really looks like? Just ask one to bring you along. That's how I ended up working my first night shift in the ER!
I turned "we're hiring" into a first-person POV series following specialized clinical roles through real shifts at Rush. The first episode, a nurse's 24-hour shift, became the most-viewed piece of content in Rush history with 3M+ views. Serialized across roles and spun off into a podcast, the franchise drove 40X audience growth across social.
