a one act play

I wrote www.SelfStory.com in 2006 during the George W. Bush presidency, and also a month-long break from social media, which at the time was just MySpace and Facebook.

SelfStory was first performed at the One Act Play festival at Olathe East High School in 2007. It went on to win International Thespian Society's Playworks competition in 2008, and Young Playwrights Inc.'s "Write-A-Play" competition in 2009. Also in 2009, the play was performed at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City, in theaters across the U.S. and internationally, and published in Dramatics magazine.

You can inquire about licensing rights by contacting me. You can inquire about whether or not I predicted the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic in this play, but I don't have any more answers than you do. The virus in my play is fake -- in our world it's very real.
